The philosophy of Darkoh is creating a sophisticated look with a little twist because after all, a suit wants to be worn more than once. Even more importantly, a suit should always live through its wearer and accent his individuality in the most colorful way but never overdress.
For Fall Winter 2018, we wanted to create a young look combined with simple colorful accessories which leaves room to add more or less to the individual style.
We focused on corduroy, a fabric I personally and with me many others had a love /hate relationship with during childhood but which I learned to love as I grew older. The combination with pure wool and other structured fabrics such as suede and cooked knit sort of browses off the 70s bootleg image and gives it a young look.
Another reoccurring aspect of DARKOH is the English influenced silhouette with fitted pants. As color plays a dominant role in each collection, the slim fit adds a sense of masculinity and affinity to a healthy lifestyle. This season we paid homage to one classic item that endured throughout every decade, the denim jacket, which we revived in form of faux suede styled with matching pants.
The biggest challenge this season was to stay away from masculine colors such as blue and black, and at the same time avoid traditional corduroy colors such as brown, grey and black. The dominant colors in the FW18 collection are olive, bordaeux and burnt orange, which can be toned down with shades of grey or combined together, if desired. The roughness of the fabrics easily allow the use of feminine colors without loosing its masculinity. In combination, it creates a sensitive Dorian Grey look that never looses its manliness.
