Sustainability
We Care
Sustainability has become a topic that concerns us all, now that the effect of global warming through ruthless wasting and producing is becoming very visual. Even though we are not a Vegan brand, our focus is on consciously sourcing our materials and producing under fair conditions without harming workers, animals and our precious environment.
We here at DARKOH do take pride in working with suppliers that exclusively produce fabrics whilst sustaining environmental integrity. The city of Huddersfield, where most of our wool is spun is known for its traditional mills that still spin and dye cloth naturally and chemical-free. In addition, we not only refrain from using animal skin but we also assure that our wool fibers are provided by sheep herds that are held under eco-friendly conditions. A majority of our products are manufactured in-house with focus on trade skills and healthy workspace conditions; only a few finishing tasks are outsourced to selected manufacturer within the EU. Our clothing is made to survive a long period of time, actually generations, (if good taste is passed on) which is a major factor in the sustainability movement.
We believe that showing awareness for a healthy environment starts with our own conscious living and eating. Knowing where your clothes is made and under what conditions is just one step to support sustainability and it does not require a Vegan lifestyle unless by choice, of course.
Our collection is also available at Green Window, a German platform that offers products that were manufactured under the Fair Trade and Sustainability aspect.
