No Business As Usual

Posted on May 15, 2017

After fulfilling the demand of well-fitted suits that are not the ordinary, we are entering a new era of business wear.

Introducing a new line of business suits that is catering individuals with an eco-friendly and open-minded approach to problem solving and strategy planning.

We carefully picked designs and colors that follow office standards but shine with exclusive sustainable fabrics such as wool, cotton, cupro and linen and little design details that compliment a professional look.

Each month a new suits style will be added to the collection in order to provide more interchangeable styling options.

This month, we introduce five different styles that will be available online and on Green Window by the end of May.

Brock O’Hurn Caught By Laretta Houston

Posted on December 22, 2016

In August, we had the honor to dress actor Brock O’Hurn (“Too Close To Home“, TLC) for his first fashion photoshoot. The images were taken by renowned LA based photographer Laretta Houston. We kept it casual but sophisticated for Brock by putting him in a nice blue merino wool and a softly woven grey patterned garment. The shoes were provided by Giorgio Brutini, a shoe company that had also function as one of our NYFW sponsors before. We think Brock looks amazing and we know that it was not his last excursion into the fashion world (hint hint…)

Posted on

Shortly before the holidays, we have the pleasure to introduce our new formalwear collection called The Modernist.

THE DAPPER REPORT x DARKOH

Posted on November 28, 2016

In November, we had the pleasure to collaborate with Blogger and menswear insider Marc from The Dapper Report. He was very specific with which suit he wanted to blog, our plum double breasted suit. Nothing wrong with it; however, we thought he might be going for an easier suit, such as our single breasted Winter suit as doubles are still very rare on the streets in Europe, especially a six button one.

But knowing that he is a Pro, so we were not surprised over the superb outcome. But see for yourself.

We Care

Sustainability has become  a topic that concerns us all, now that the effect of global warming through ruthless wasting and producing is becoming very visual. Even though we are not a Vegan brand, our focus is on consciously sourcing our materials and producing under fair conditions without harming workers, animals and our precious environment.

We here at DARKOH do take pride in working with suppliers that exclusively produce fabrics whilst sustaining environmental integrity. The city of Huddersfield, where most of our wool is spun is known for its traditional mills that still spin and dye cloth naturally and chemical-free. In addition, we not only refrain from using animal skin but we also assure that our wool fibers are provided by sheep herds that are held under eco-friendly conditions. A majority of our products are manufactured in-house with focus on trade skills and healthy workspace conditions; only a few finishing tasks are outsourced to selected manufacturer within the EU. Our clothing is made to survive a long period of time, actually generations, (if good taste is passed on) which is a major factor in the sustainability movement.

We believe that showing awareness for a healthy environment starts with our own conscious living and eating. Knowing where your clothes is made and under what conditions is just one step to support sustainability and it does not require a Vegan lifestyle unless by choice, of course.

Our collection is also available at Green Windows, a German platform that offers products that were manufactured under the Fair Trade and sustainability aspect.

The Winter 2016 collection “The Rebel Yell”

Posted on September 8, 2016

Inspired by the Steve McQueen era, the FW16 collection is filled with a clear-cut masculinity and a youthful casualty. It pays homage to an enfolded individuality and the search for man’s inner self. Harsh fabric like tweed and boiled wool are combined with softly woven wool and cotton; masculine shades harmonize with soft tones. Checked patterns in contrasting colors add to the rebellious and yet soft, almost melancholic mood that McQueen was known for.

In July, we met up with Swedish blogger Umit Obeyd (@umitobeyd) to provide him with our denim suit for a fashion shoot in Germany. He styled it with accessories from BOSS and Neckwear. We think he is looking mighty dapper..
